1974 Home Countries Welsh Air Pistol team at the National meeting - L to R - John Griffiths, Gary Hellstrom(Tondu), Bill Phelps(Captain and Tondu), Mike O'Leary and Denis Bailey(Tondu)


1975 Welsh shooting team in Belgium - Mike Cockel, Bill Phelps and Terry Lewis. The ranges at Overisje near Brussels were demolished a few years later to make way for a motorway.


1976 and the Commonwealth Shooting Federation European Championships were hosted by Wales for the first time and temporary ranges were set up in Cardiff Castle. The photo, taken from the top of the Norman Keep, shows the Rapid Fire 25m range.


1978 saw the Welsh shooting team in Holland. Mike Cockel, Gary Hellstrom and Bill Phelps from Tondu were part of the team.

1979 and the Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championships were held in Newcastle, Northern Ireland. Tondu members included, Gary Hellstrom, Bill Phelps, Diane Monk, Mike Sandford and Tony Monk.

1980 Tondu members at a Long Range Pistol shoot in Dorset in October. Colin Ryland, Bill Phelps, Richard Phelps, Phil Croft, Howard Jayne and Tom Baggott - all otherwise jokingly known as the Dalton gang.


1982 and theCommonwealth Shooting Federation Championships were held in Guernsey. Tondu members in the team were Tony and Diane Monk, Denis Bailey and Bill Phelps.

1985 and the International Long Range Pistol Shooting Association held their Championships at Bisley. Photos taken on the Century range shooting class A Free pistol at 300 yards with a LR Free Pistol chambered for .308 Norma Magnum.

1990 at the Home Countries International Centre Fire pistol event in Northern Ireland, with the Welsh Team standing outside the gates of Stormont, Belfast. Two Tondu members were part of the team.
